Adding glory to the fame of his alma mater, Vivek Sharma, a student of Grade IX, of DAV International School, Amritsar received a rare honour on 14 August, 2014 at Vigyaan Bhawan, New Delhi, where Union Human Resource Development Minister Ms Smriti Irani honoured him, for his stupendous achievements in Yoga, with an appreciation letter of CBSE and a message personally signed by the Prime Minister of India.

He was among 48 students who were chosen due to their excellent performance in CBSE sports competitions and invited by CBSE for giving an insight into the rich cultural heritage of India by organizing three days event involving a Heritage Walk, Preparation of an E-Book (Hamari Dharohar & Hamara Sapana), and Participation in the speech of the Prime Minister at Red Fort.               

While talking about the exceptional achievement of her student, Principal Anjana Gupta lauded the efforts and the hard work put in by him and extended her good wishes to his family. She said that the school possess excellent sports infrastructure, which offers the much-needed cutting edge to the students and groom them as adept sportspersons. On this occasion, Chairman, Dr V P Lakanpal and Manager Dr. K.N Kaul also appreciated their student for such a great achievement and wished him good luck for his future.
