The decision of Govt. of India to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhabhi Patel as Rashtirya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) was hailed by DAV International School in the true spirit by conducting a special program on this day. Under the able leadership of Principal of the school and centre co-ordination Ms. Anjana Gupta . The celebration began with a Morning Assembly on the theme of ‘Unity’ which has presided over by DEO, Secondary Education, Amritsar Sardar Satinderbir Singh. After invoking the divine benedictions Principal of the school Ms. Anjana Gupta accorded a floral welcome to the worthy guest. The budding schools of 6^th std. threw some light on the life history of Sardar Patel by delivering a speech in his honour. The young DAVIANS also presented a remarkable role-play highlighting the eventful life of this great man. In the assembly, the students also pledged to dedicate themselves to preserve the unity and security of the nation. The Assembly conducted with a ‘Run for Unity’ in which students ran carrying the message of peace, unity, safety and integrity. In his address to the students, Chief Guest Sardar Satinderbir Singh stimulated the students to follow the footsteps of great leaders like Sardar Patel and thereby bring laurels to their country.

On this occasion, a plethora of activities was organized on the school campus to instil the feeling of National Integrity in the future citizens of the country. These included, Collage Making, Poster Making, Painting, and Jingles, Sports namely Yoga, Kho-Kho & Kabadi, Debate and Online Quiz.

706 students from 27 schools of the district, affiliated to CBSE, PSEB & ICSE participated & exhibited their inherent talent in these activities. Sardar Kulwant Singh, Sardar Sukhpal Singh, Sardar Bhupinder Singh, Mr. Baljeet Verma, Mrs. Neelam Prabha, Ms. Mandeep Ghai and Mr. Ashok Sahni were some of the eminent persons present on the spot to witness the conduct of different activities.
