Under the flagship of DAV Centre of Academic Excellence, New Delhi, DAV International School, Amritsar, hosted a workshop on 'Developing IT skills’ for XI and XII on 13^th August, 2014. This workshop was conducted to reach out to teachers on key issues related to enhancement of different computer skills in senior classes. Different DAV schools of Amritsar zone like DAV Public, DAV International, DAV Police Public, M.K.D DAV Public Neshta, Attari and Guru Nanak Dev DAV Public, Bhikhiwind participated in it.

The daylong workshop started with warm felicitations by the Principal Ms. Anjana Gupta and was presided over by Sh. Iqbal Singh, PGT Computer Science, Army Public School, Amritsar as the resource person.  While addressing the participants he said that IT (Information Technology) has proved to be one of the most important subjects in school curriculum and provides easy access to learning. The focus of the workshop was to communicate to educators the importance of education for sustainable development in different fields and to enlighten them about the various methodologies and strategies required to improve the board results.

Thanking the participants and the guest at the occasion, Principal Ms. Anjana Gupta in her address delved on the fact that environment issues and practicing environment education is now becoming an integral part of our school curriculum and academicians and researchers all around the world believe that IT is a potent tool to enhance the capacity in terms of perception, and understanding. She also thanked the DAV CMC, New Delhi for providing such a platform to the schools to update the knowledge of their fraternity.
