DAV International organizes Capacity Building Program for teachers
In order to empower teachers with knowledge, skills and positive attitude so that they start using technology as a vital tool in their teaching process, a 2 day Capacity Building Program was inaugurated at DAV International School, Amritsar on 23rd May, 2015 under the aegis of DAV Centre for Academic Excellence, New Delhi The workshop, designed for the teachers teaching Science, social Science and Punjabi in grade VI, VII and VIII, was attended by 42 teachers from different DAV schools of Amritsar Zone. The Resource persons for the workshops were Ms. Jaspal Anand and Ms. Kawaljit Kaur (Punjabi); Ms Rajesh Saini and Ms. Pinki Sharma (Science); Ms. Benu Kumar and Ms. Monika Sharma (Social Science).
The first day commenced with Lamp Lighting after which Principal Anjana Gupta felicitated the dignitaries and extended a formal welcome to the gathering. She also expressed her grateful appreciation to the President DAV CMC, Dr. Punam Suri for providing opportunities to teachers which will assist them to achieve optional performances and personal development. Regional Director, Dr. Mrs. Neelam Kamra in her addressed told the teachers about the current needs of students and urged the teaching community to do their best to meet the needs of the students.
The resource persons during their session talked about the objectives and technology used in the subject. They also briefed the teachers on role of teacher in achieving academic excellence. Teachers discussed traditional and innovative teaching techniques with the help of Power Point presentations. Resource persons acquainted the teachers with methods of designing efficient lesson plan.
On day 2, teachers would be trained to integrate value education and technology in their subject along with the art of Question framing and Interdisciplinary projects.
