DAV International School hosts workshop under DAV Centre for Excellence (Classes for VI - VIII)

Under the aegis of DAV CAE, New Delhi, an orientation program for the teachers of VI-VIII grades of DAV public schools (Amritsar Zone) was organized at DAV International School, Amritsar on 24-10-2015. The orientation cum interactive meet was held for three subjects, i.e. Hindi, Punjabi and Social Sciences with the aim to bring a qualitative improvement in the teaching- learning process with the objective of enhancing learner achievement.

As many as 25 teachers from DAV International School, DAV Public School Lawrence Road, Amritsar, DAV Police Public School, GND DAV Public School, Bhikhiwind and MKD DAV Public School, Attari; participated in the workshop.

Principal Anjana Gupta inaugurated the workshop and said that she was happy to see the enthusiastic participants and stressed that as a teacher one must always grow and upgrade himself/ herself to deal with changing trends in education.

Ms. Akshna Sharma & Ms. Punam Kaul( HIndi), Ms. Jaspreet Anand & Ms. Surinder Dhillon (Punjabi), Ms. Sadhna Aggarwal & Ms. Anju Arora (Social Science) were the resource persons.

During the workshop the detailed syllabus of the subjects was discussed. The resource persons, through different types of activities, PPTs and group discussions, emphasized on the importance of adopting different techniques for motivating & helping students to comprehend the given content and reproduce it in a creative and correct form in the exams to get good marks.

The workshop was a grand success as many new ideas and innovative methods to enhance teaching and learning process were developed. Teachers updated their knowledge of designing effective lesson plans and assignments.

Addressing the audience during the valedictory ceremony, Principal Anjana Gupta motivated the participating teachers and added that such kinds of workshops are highly required in keeping the teachers abreast of the latest trends in education. She thanked the resource persons and the participants for being a part of the workshop.
