DAV International School holds Capacity Building Program for teachers
Under the aegis of DAV CAE, New Delhi, Capacity Building Program for the Senior Secondary teachers was organized at DAV international School, Amritsar on 10th September, 2016. The orientation program was held for 14 different subjects.ie. Mathematics, Economics, Accountancy, Business Studies, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Punjabi, Political Science, Physical Education, Music, Informatics Practices and Fine Arts. The aim of the meet was to improve the teaching- learning process by enhancing the skill & knowledge of the teachers.
As many as 100 teachers participated from GND DAV Public School, Bhikhiwind; Police DAV Public School; MKD DAV Public School, Attari; DAV International and DAV Public School, Lawrence road participated in the workshop. On this occasion, Principal Anjana Gupta extended floral welcome to the resource persons. She welcomed the participating teachers and said that the motto behind organizing such workshops is to upgrade the teaching methodologies of the teachers so that they may deal with the changing trends in education. Melodious DAV Gaan was presented by young DAVIANS.
Ms. Kamalpreet Kaur (Accountancy), Ms. Monika Gupta (Business Studies), Mr. Navdeep Sharma (Physics), Ms. Harpreet Kaur (Chemistry), Ms. Seema Sharma (Biology), Ms. Parveen (Phy. Edu), Ms. Savita (Punjabi), Ms. Reetu Pandya (English), Ms. Inderjeet Sandhu (Pol. Sci), Mr. Narinder Kumar (Music), Ms. Radha Mehra& Ms. Amita Gupta (Economics), Ms. Sunita (Fine Arts), Ms. Monika Bhandari(I.P) and Mr. Manoj Kumar (Mathematics)were the resource persons.
During the workshop, through different activities and methodologies, resource persons touched the different learning areas in their subjects. They shared innovated methods and pedagogies to make different areas easy to teach and comprehend. They took queries of the participating teachers and with hand outs and other helpful resources, solved their problems. The program was a success as many new and innovative ideas were shared amongst teachers to enhance the teaching- learning process. The Principal thanked the resource persons and the participants for being the part of the workshop.
