FOUNDATION DAY CELEBRATED AT DAVIS

A grand Hawan was organized on the premises of DAV International School to celebrate its Foundation Day. The whole campus reverberated with the melodious chanting of mantras being recited by the students of the school. On this noble occasion, Principal of the school Ms. Anjana Gupta showered her blessings on the budding scholars of the school. In her address she highlighted the immense progress made by the school since its inception in the year 1998. She added that the present strength of 5240 students in the school is a huge evidence to prove the remarkable progress of the school. She also hoped and prayed that in the coming years also the school may keep in scaling greater heights.

Bharat Bhawna Diwas was celebrated with the feelings of true patriotism at DAV International School. The students reflected their sense of pride as at 10 a.m. in the morning on 6^th May, 2013 , the whole school reverberated with the sound of National Anthem. The students along with teaching and non-teaching staff sang it in unison.

Emphasizing the importance of the National Anthem  the Principal of the school, Principal Ms. Anjana Gupta said that our National Anthem, written by Rabindra Nath Tagore presents a beautiful and grand picture of our motherland, India. The land which is having abundant treasures & rich in cultural heritage and even in the midst of great diversity, it is symbolic of unity, a common factor that binds all the Indians.

The students took pledge to respect their National Anthem and safeguard its pride & dignity.

World Asthma Day is an annual event organized by the Global Initiation for Asthma (GINA) to improve Asthma awareness and care around the world.

DAV International School, Amritsar held a seminar on this day. The topic of the session was Asthma – Myths and Realities. The seminar was conducted by Dr. Navdeep Sharma, the school doctor. He imparted the basic knowledge about Asthma, its causes kinds and symptoms.

Certain Myths and realities were revealed like Asthma is a non-communicable disease, the inhalers can be not injurious. There are also natural treatments such as Yoga and Pranayam’s.  

There are also domestic remedies such as piper unigram, turmeric, etc. their usage diereses the severity as well as the frequency of attacks.

The addressed age group was 12-14 years.  Honourable Principal Mam Mrs. Anjana Gupta thanks the doctor for imparting such valuable information to the students. Madam Principal also spoke about the problem of Asthma prevailing at a large scale in India. She advised the Children to be hygienic and to keep the environment clean.       

The students of DAV International School were sensitized about the importance of saving environment as Earth Day was celebrated with myriad of educational activities under the able guidance of Principal Ms. Anjana Gupta.

On this occasion, a special morning assembly was held where in pupils expressed their views about saving our planet ‘Earth’. A play was organized that motivated all to keep the planet beautiful as ever. All the students took a pledge to plant a sapling.

To mark this day, poster making competition & declamation on the topic ‘Save Earth’ were organized in various classes.

Principal Ms. Anjana Gupta emphasized the importance of conserving our environment by protecting earth from the wicked hands of pollution, deforestation & other factors deteriorating earth. She further told that celebrating this day is an outstanding opportunity to focus the attention of everyone on the dire need to protect environment & to stimulate the creativity & imagination of the students so that they can act persuasively to help solving environmental problems.  

 Labour day i.e. 1st May, 2013 was celebrated on the premises of DAV International School with great zest and zeal. A special morning assembly was conducted on the theme of ‘Labour Day’ by the students of class X, in which through a role –play they depicted the pathetic condition of the labour class and also hinted at the ways to improve it. In her address to the students, Principal Ms. Anjana Gupta remarked that the labour class inspite of contributing so much in the building up of our society remains neglected and uncared for. So, she advised the students to be respectful towards them and do something to give them their due place in society.
