“A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the centre of our universe.”

Considering the importance of parental participation in a child’s education and valuing their rigorous efforts in keeping pace with the challenges occurring around the pandemic period, the teachers of XI-XII of DAV International School, Amritsar organized a webinar on Parent Orientation through a virtual platform on June, 2020.

The resource persons, Ms. Amita Gupta, Ms. Navneet Sandhu, Mr. Vikas Mehra and Mr. Pankhur Sehgal spoke at length about the various initiatives taken by the school to benefit the student community and gave an overview of the various subjects and the activities which are a part of current year’s curriculum. Parents were briefed about the co-scholastic activities designed purposefully to let students make complete use of their time at home. Students are assigned tasks to fully hone their creative talents and energies and help them in their all-round development. Parents were told to notify the Class teachers about their ward’s illness and unavailability for the class meetings. They were also educated about Psychological security of their child.

The webinar proved to be an interactive and informative effort made by the school in enlightening the parents to look after and guide their children in a proper manner. It also helped in surfacing a common teaching strategy and helped the parents in identifying suitable follow up methods to strengthen the learning process of their children.
