TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATED AT DAV INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
UNDER THE AEGIS OF SAHODAYA SCHOOLS COMPLEX AMRITSAR
DAV International School, Amritsar organised a grand Teachers’ Day Function under the aegis of Sahodya Schools Complex, Amritsar on 12th September, 2016. As many as 64 Principals and 96 teachers were honoured for their meritorious services in the field of education.
Dr. Biswajit Saha, Additional Director, Vocational Education Cell, CBSE, New Delhi presided over the function as Chief Guest. The celebrations began with lighting of Ceremonial lamp followed by floral welcome of the Chief Guest by Dr. Dharamveer Singh, President, Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra, Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Principal Anjana Gupta, Principal Anita Bhalla, DEO Sardar Satinderbir Singh, DSO Sardar Kulwinder Singh & other office bearers of Sahodaya School Complex, Amritsar.
In her welcome address, Principal Anjana Gupta talked about the glorious Indian tradition of putting a teacher on a higher pedestal than even God. She added that the teacher is compared to a candle that burns itself in order to illumine the path for others. She congratulated the Award winning teachers for their commitment and dedication to their noble profession
The Chief Guest, Dr. Biswajit Saha stressed upon the great role & responsibility of teachers in imparting high moral values to their students. Highlighting the crucial significance of vocational education, he asserted that employability of students could be enhanced only by providing them skill education during school.
On this occasion, Dr. Rajiv Niryal, Principal, S.S. Bajwa Memorial Sr. Sec. School, Qadian; Principal Rajni Kalra, Ryan International School, Amritsar; Principal Harjiderpal Kaur, Shri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Burj Marhana, Tarn Taran; Principal Parminder Kaur, Shri Guru Harkrishan International School, Gurdaspur; Principal Surjeet Sharma, Shaheed Bhagat Singh International School, Varpal were honoured and presented mementoes for their extra ordinary achievements in the field of education.
96 teachers from member schools of Sahodaya Complex, Amritsar were presented with the Award of Honour for their commendable work as teachers.
The talented DAVIANS presented a colourful cultural feast consisting of a patriotic song, an invocation to Lord Ganesha, through a classical dance presentation and a fusion dance.
Sardar Satinderbir Singh, DEO, Amritsar in his motivational speech glorified mother’s role as the greatest teacher in her children’s lives. He asserted that teaching is different from all other professions. Teachers have the great responsibility of building an ideal society by producing ideal citizens.
Dr. Dharamveer Singh while delivering the vote of thanks, congratulated the award winning Principals & teachers. He added that the respect of students can be earned only by those teachers who are hard working, competent and committed. He concluded by expressing thanks to the guests for their presence.
Principal Sarvjeet Kaur Brar, Principal Vijay Mehra, Principal Vinodita Sankhyan, Principal Urminder Kaur, Principal Paramjit Kumar,Principal Ripudaman, Principal Amarjeet Kaur & Principal Deepinder Kaur also graced the function with their presence.
The award ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
