Under the tutelage of Padma Shree Arya Ratan Dr. Punam Suri Ji (President, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi) Arya Pradheshik Pratinidhi Upsabha, Punjab organized “ Anand Parv” dedicated to Mahatma Anand Swami Ji. It was held on October 25, 2017 at “Urvi” Auditorium, BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road, Amritsar. Conducted under the directions of Pradhan, Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi UpSabha, Punjab – Principal Sh. J.P. Shoor and Mantri Dr. Neelam Kamra, Padma Shree Arya Ratan Dr. Punam Suri was the Chief Guest of this prestigious programme and Smt. Mani Suri was the special guest.

The programme commenced with the holy Hawa Yajna Chanting of the holy mantras created a holy ambience all around. Colourful bouquets were presented to welcome the distinguished guests. The budding artists of DAV International school gave a mellifluous presentation of DAV Gaan highlighting the ideals of all DAV Institutions. A melodious Welcome Song was also presented in the honour of the present august gathering by the students of DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar followed by a heart touching Bhajan by the music team, headed by Sh. Vijay Mehak, of BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road, Amritsar.

In his welcome address, Sh. J.P. Shoor remarked that besides rendering invaluable contributions in the field of academics , Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha, Punjab has, time and again, conducted various social awareness programmes like Project Boond (to save water), Tree Plantation Drive (to prevent environmental degradation), Blood Donation Camp, Mass Wedding of girls from underprivileged families and Distribution of Free Ration to Widows. In this regard only this mega event has been organized today on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Anand Swami ji. He specially remarked that these days in the wake of increasing crime rate, there is a dire need for the moral upliftment of the human mind and Arya Samaj is tiressly engaged in this noble task.

Mahatma Anand Swami ji, who devoted his entire life to the service of Arya Samaj and humanity at large, is an inspiration for all of us. Following his footsteps, we all should come forward for the upliftment of our society. These were the words of the President of DAV CMC and Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, New Delhi Arya Ratan Dr. Punam Suri, Padam Shree Awardee. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the organizers of this programme for their warm hospitality. Stressing on the innate qualities of Mahatma Anand Swami, he advised the teachers to adopt the same and motivate their students also. He also explained at length the in-depth meaning of Gayatri Mantra.

The students of MKD DAV Public School, Neshtha Attari pesented an Audio Visual Presentation based on the eventful and inspiring life story of Mahatma Anand Swami ji. This performance highlighted that since his childhood Mahatma ji was inclined towards spirituality. Meeting Mahatma Nityanand ji was a turning point in his life as he motivated him to become a part of Arya Samaj and follow the path of social service. The audience gave a thunderous applause to the splendid performance of the young artists. Swami Chaitanya Muni discussed some important religious preaching’s and showered her blessings on the present gathering. Dr. Mrs Neelam Kamra delivered a vote of thanks and expressed her gratitude to the esteemed guests for gracing the pious occasion. As a step towards social welfare, sewing machines were distributed to 51 needy women by the Hon’ble Guests of the occasion.

The programme ended with the chanting of Shanti Paath followed by Rishi Langar.
