A special programme was organized on the campus of DAV International School under the stewardship of Principal Anjana Gupta on March 8, 2018 in collaboration with Bharat Vikas Parishad, Amritsar Main. On this occasion, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Amritsar Ms. Sonali Giri was the Chief Guest. The President of Bharat Vikas Parishad Suman Mahajan and Vice-President Nainish Behal were also present.

Principal Anjana Gupta accorded a floral welcome to the distinguished guests. In her address, she applauded the efforts being made by Ms. Sonali Giri for the upliftment of the city and expressed the hope of a bright & prosperous future of the Holy City under her leadership.

While talking to the present gathering, Ms. Sonali Giri, first of all, emphasized on the indispensable role played by women in the changing society. She, then, highlighted the immense significance of cleanliness in maintaining sound health and asserted that the Municipal Corporation is tirelessly engaged in making Amritsar City a clean and green city. She also told that  200 safety kits will be distributed among the workers to avoid any kind of danger to their lives while cleaning the sewerages.

The President of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Amritsar felicitated Commissioner, Sonali Giri and Principal Anjana Gupta on the occasion of Women’s Day for rendering their invaluable services to the society in their respective fields. Sh. Suman Mahajan also extend his congratulations on this occasion and said that woman is the finest creation of God and hence deserves utmost love and regard. Sh. J.S. Nagpal, Mr. Arun Gupta, Mr. A.
