Mahatma Hans Raj Blood Donation Camp at DAV International School, Amritsar

Under the patrongage of Arya Ratan Sh. Punam Suri Ji, President, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi & Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, New Delhi and leadership of Sh. J.P. Shoor, Secretary, Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha,New Delhi and     Dr. (Mrs) Neelam Kamra, President, Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha, Punjab, a blood donation camp was organized to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Hans Raj. Sh. J.P. Shoor, Director (PS-I) & Aided Schools, DAV CMC, New Delhi was the Chief Guest of the occasion  which was graced also by Dr. V.P. Lakhanpal, Chairman , Dr. K.N. Kaul – Manager of the school respectively. The camp began on lofty note with the singing of DAV song followed by a bhajan eulogizing the importance of noble and charitable deeds performed for the total good of humanity.

The Chief Guest in his address, dwelt upon the countless initiatives of DAV CMC,  New Delhi under the stewardship of our President for the alleviation of human suffereing and enrichment of life of the poorest of the poor people. In fact, Shri Punam Suri’s life is dedicated to the selfless service of the motherland through more than 700 DAV Institutions working under his stimulating leadership. “Boond’ & ‘Green India’ are among the commendable projects  undertaken by DAV CMC, New Delhi, under his guidelines. Sh. J.P. Shoor cleared the various misconceptions in the mind of general public regarding blood donation by presenting scientific facts in support of this kind deed. Blood donation, he added, is doubling rewarding as it gives life to a diging person & fresh supply of blood to the donor also.

Sh. J.P. Shoor honoured Principal Anjana Gupta for her glorious achievements & awards. The Manager of the School, Dr. K.N. Kaul expressed gratitude to the donors for their humanitarian deed which will go a long way in adding happiness to the world.   Sh. J.P. Shoor , Dr. V.P. Lakhanpal, Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra & Dr. K. N. Kaul bucked up the donors & expressed appreciation for their noble gesture.

As many as 150 people from various walks of life donated blood on this occasion. The Principal of the school inspired the students with her own example by being among the first to donate blood. Many former students of the school, faculty members also participated in blood donation to make the camp a grand success.
