With the aim to hone the life skills teaching amongst the teachers DAV International School, Amritsar organized a CBSE workshop ‘Capacity Building Programme’ on Life Skills on May 17, 2018 on it's campus. The workshop, attended by participants from 30 schools across Punjab, focused on the curriculum which lends itself to the holistic development of the children. Under the stewardship of the host Principal, Ms. Anjana Gupta, the workshop commenced with the sacred lamp lighting ceremony followed by the floral welcome of the honorable resource person, Principal Vinodita Sankhyan from Shri Ram Ashram Public School, Amritsar. She enriched the participants with the useful knowledge and effective execution of the life skills in teaching. Teachers were trained to include the different life skills like Empathy, Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Creative thinking, Interpersonal  Relationships, Self Awareness, Managing Stress and Emotions, Coping with Stress  etc. in the curriculum in an effective manner.

The workshop was indeed an eye-opener as it cleared doubts and brought to light many aspects which are important for effective implementation of the education. The discussion adequately had the tone set for a healthy interaction of inputs and views from the teachers. The activities during the session enlightened the teachers about how to empower the students by inculcating the right kind of life skills as a response to contemporary situations. The teachers dispersed in great gratitude for the enormous enrichment.
