On the occasion of their Annual Day themed ‘Parvarish’, the Nursery and Pre- nursery students of DAV International School, Amritsar, emphasized upon right parenting. The event held on the school premises was graced by Mr. Lakhbir Singh, A D C P, Amritsar as the Chief Guest of the day. The Chairman of the institution, Dr. V P lakhanpal and Manager Dr. Rajeev Mahajan were also present there.

The function commenced with the lighting of the lamp followed by the felicitation of the special guest by the Principal of the institution, Dr. Anjana Gupta. The Principal while addressing the audience said that children are like raw clay and can be moulded anyway. She also said that the school endeavors to provide both holistic and moral development to its students but this is not possible without the cooperation of the parents. According to her, parents should restrain themselves from pampering their children as this goes against them. Through the medium of their play, ‘Parvarish’, students stressed upon the role of parenting in the character building. They called upon the impact of parents on the emotional and psychological growth of a child.

The Chief Guest of the day, Mr. Lakhbir Singh applauded the efforts of the little wonders and said that these children are the future of our nation and their all round development lies in the hands of their parents and teachers. Dr. Rajesh Kumar too focused on the role of family and said that parents should be an ideal role model for their children. Chairman, Dr. V P Lakhanpal extended vote of thanks to the audience and appreciated the efforts of the students and the teachers.

On this occasion the LMC member, Mr. Satnam Singh, Mr. Rahul Joshi and the parents of the students were present. Dr. Anjana Gupta honoured the chief Guest with a memento. The function concluded with national anthem.
