With a view to abreast the teachers with the latest techniques in pedagogy, DAV International School, Amritsar organised a two day long capacity building programme on January 19 and 20, 2019. As per the directions of DAV CAE, New Delhi and guidance of Mr. J.P. Shoor, Director P.S. Schools-I, New Delhi, the workshop was conducted under the tutelage of Dr. Neelam Kamra, Regional Officer, Punjab Zone – A and the able leadership of Principal Dr. Anjana Gupta. Almost 365 teachers from different DAV institutions of Amritsar, Dasuya, Kapurthala, Gurdaspur and Talwara participated in this workshop. On the commencement of the programme, the Resource Persons of Hindi, Punjabi, English and EEDP were honoured with a mementos and a sapling. Addressing the august gathering, Mr. J.P. Shoor enlightened the participating teachers that the primary motion of the DAV CAE is to upgrade the teachers about the latest techniques and changing pedagogical approaches and keeping this in mind different informational programme for the teachers of different classes are organised so that the teachers may get a common platform to re-skill themselves and solve their queries.

On this occasion, Regional Officer, Dr. Neelam Kamra said that teachers need to act as learners if they wish to keep themselves abreast with the current pedagogical developments. School Manager, Dr. Rajesh Kumar too stressed upon the requirement of the up gradation of teaching skills in teachers and told teachers to be true role model and a guide to their students.

In her speech, Dr. Anjana Gupta said that such re-skilling sessions go a long way in adding to the teacher’s arsenal of effective methodologies and therefore every teacher should make ample use of such meticulously designed workshops. The Resource Persons of different workshops focused on various topics of their respective subjects. They shared various measures to transform the teaching strategies and introduced new methodologies. Different group activities were done during the session and questionnaires were also prepared by the teachers.

Ms. Keerti, Ms. Aradhana, Ms. Huma, Ms. Shelly, Ms. Ranjana, Ms. Money, Ms. Sonia and Ms. Sehaj (English); Ms. Neeru, Ms. Seema, Ms. Mamta, Ms. Meenakshi, Ms. Sonia and Ms. Sarika (Hindi); Ms. Parminder, Ms. Manjit Kaur, Ms. Rawinder Kaur, Ms. Varinder Kaur, Ms. Rajwant Kaur, Ms. Ranbir Kaur, Ms. Chandan, Ms. Amandeep Kaur (Punjabi); Ms. Neha, Ms. Chhavi, Ms. Mauli, Ms. Poonam, Ms.Ranjita and Ms. Aditi Sharma (EEDP) were the resource person of the workshop. The two-day workshop concluded on January 20.
