Following the instructions of CBSE, a two day workshop of career guidance was held under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Anjana Gupta at DAV International School on August 30-31, 2019. Mr. Yogesh Gambhir, Principal DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur and Ms. Sangeeta Bhatia, Counselor, MGN Public School, Jalandhar presided over as the Resource Persons. As many as 54 teachers from 31 CBSE affiliated schools attended the workshop.

The workshop comments with the lighting of knowledge lamp. The school choir welcomed the guests with a melodious song. The Principal, Dr. Anjana Gupta extended floral welcome to the Resource Persons and expressed her gratitude by giving them mementoes. While addressing the gathering, she talked about the need of career guidance especially for tenth graders who are into dilemma for choosing the right subject in senior classes. She said that one wrong decision can lead these students to darkness therefore, it is the duty of the teachers to enable them choose the right subject considering there interest and ability as this will keep them away from mental stress and boost their confidence. She also said that the innate abilities of a child should be recognized and enhanced from the tender age itself.

Resource Person, Principal Yogesh Gambhir, while interacting with the teachers, talked in detail on perspective building and professional development whereas Ms. Sangeeta Bhatia said that teachers transform lives and they should therefore broaden their horizon of knowledge and updates students about various profession oriented subjects. She also talked about the significance of languages and skill oriented lesson planning. She updated the teachers about various career guidance options available on CBSE website. She also stressed upon the need to eradicate rote learning and promote practical knowledge. Participants updated themselves through various activities and had a healthy discussion on various challenges.
