With a motive to enhance the standard of classroom teaching and learning and to apprise the teachers with the latest techniques in this regard,  DAV International School, Amritsar organized a two-day Capacity Building Programme on November 30 and December 01, 2019. As per the directions of DAV CAE, New Delhi and guidance of Dr. J.P. Shoor, Director,   PS- I & Aided Schools, New Delhi, the workshop was conducted under the tutelage of  Dr. Neelam Kamra, Regional Officer, Punjab Zone A and the able leadership of Principal Dr. Anjana Gupta. As many as 291 teachers and 28 Resource Persons from different DAV Institutions of Amritsar district and Dasuya, Kapurthala, Gurdaspur, Giddarbaha, Malout, Dabwali and Talwara participated in this workshop which was conducted in the subjects Hindi, Punjabi, English, Business Studies, Accountancy and EEDP.

On this occasion, Regional Officer, Dr. Neelam Kamra interacted with the participating teachers and Resource Persons and remarked that in the present day competitive world a great responsibility rests on the shoulders of teachers as the society demands high quality of teaching and learning.  She recommended the teachers to make the most out of these Capacity Building Programmes to fulfill their responsibilities in the best possible way. She added the teachers should not only aim for the academic excellent of the students but also train them to excel in their lives ahead.

Further, Dr. Anjana Gupta, Principal DAV International School accorded a hearty welcome to the Resource Persons and teachers and advised teachers to bring required changes as per the changing times in their techniques to make teaching and learning a productive experience.

The Resource Persons of different workshops focused on various topics of their respective subjects based on the theme ‘Performance Enhancement’ and acquainted them with the new techniques and methodologies of teaching so as to bring qualitative improvement in the results of board examinations. Different group activities were done during the sessions and various assignment sheets were also made.
