A grand event was organised with the blessings of Arya Ratan Dr. Punam Suri, Padam Shri Awardee, President, Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha & DAVCMC, New Delhi and under the stewardship of Pradhan APP Upsabha, Punjab - Dr. J. P. Shoor and Mantri Dr. Neelem Kamra to commemorate the birth anniversary of the great Aryan Lala Lajpat Rai. Held at Arya Samaj, Lohgarh on January 25, 2020 this mega event was presided over by Dr. Ramesh Arya, Vice-President, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi as the Chief Guest. The programme began with the auspicious Hawan Yajna in which the holy rituals were performed by the eminent dignitaries and a sacred ambience was created with the chanting of soulful Vedic Mantras. Lighting of the lamp of knowledge was followed by some stage performances which included DAV Gaan, highlighting the ideals of DAV Institutions and a mellifluous song by the students of DAV Public School, Lawrence Road. The distinguished guests were accorded a colorful floral welcome.

Dr. J.P. Shoor welcomed the august gathering and in his address said that Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha not only aims at imparting the quality education but also at uplifting the society and inculcating values among the young generation. He also talked about the courageous hero of the nation Lala Lajpat Rai who faught gallantly in the freedom struggle and worked enthusiastically to bring about constructive changes in education system and social condition of India. He also encouraged to create professionals who are not only perfect in their work but are also great humans. He inspired the listeners to create a nation which is strong and united.

Chief Guest Dr. Ramesh Arya, sang praises for the students for their phenomenal performances. In his address he said that there is a need to familiarize the present generation with the sacrifices of the great freedom fighters like Lala Lajpat Rai. He also acknowledged the great works of Dr. Punam Suri Ji and called him a true Anglo- Vedic. He also motivated the gathering to be honest and encouraged the students to be industrious.  

On this occasion, students of BBK DAV Women ' s College, DAV International School and DAV Police Public School presented a Bhajan. A commendable audio-visual performance by the artists of GND DAV Public School, Bhikhiwind depicted the life and pre-independence struggle of the pillar of nationalism the Punjab-Kesari Lala Lajpat Rai. It also featured his immense contribution as a social reformer. Swami Chaitanya Muni enlightened the present gathering with his valuable thoughts. He said that Arya Samaj gave birth to many valiant revolutionaries who were inspired by Swami Dayanand. He said that it was the fearless patriot Lala Lajpat Rai who ignite the spark for freedom in the hearts of other heroic revolutionaries.  
 

Dr. Neelam Kamra thanked almighty and all the eminent members of DAV fraternity for making this grand event a success. She also said that Dr. Punam Suri ji is an Inspirational figure for all of us and fulfilling his dreams with all zeal is the prime motive of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha, Punjab. She motivated everyone to tread the footsteps of Lala Lajpat Rai.

On this occasion, Shri Satya Pal Pathik ji, a great arya samji was honoured with life time achievement award. Blankets  to the needy were also distributed on this event . On this occasion, Sh. B.K Mittal, Smt. Asha Mittal, Sh. Anil Aggarwal (Grandson of Lala Lajpat Rai), Sh. Abhishek Aggarwal (Great Grandson of Lala Lajpatri Rai), Shri Kundan Lal Aggarwal ji, Sh. S.P. Sehdev, Sh. Ajay Goswami, Sh. Jagdis Sahni, Yati Satya Priya ji, Prof. Lakshmi Kanta Chawla ji, Adv. Sudarshan Kapoor, Dr. Arvind Sharma, Smt. Balbir Kaur Bedi, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Dr. Pushpinder Walia, Dr. Anita Menon, Dr. Neeru Chadha, Dr. Yashvir, Dr. Varinder Bhatia, Dr. Anup, Dr. Seema, Sh. Inderpal Arya, Sr. Rakesh Mehra, Adv. Kunwar Rajinder, Principal Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal Dr. Anjana Gupta, Principal Dr. Ajay Beri, Principal Dr. Vipin Jishtu, Principal Paramjit Kumar along with various members of Arya Samaj and LMC were also present.  Principals & teachers of various DAV institutions also graced the occasion with their presence. The programme concluded with the chanting of Shaanti Path followed by the Rishi Langar.
