A grand programme and really was organized by DAV International Scool under the aegis of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi UpSabha, Punjab and Honourable President of DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi Shri Punam Suri Ji. ‘Project Boond’ is launched nationwide to save our future generation from droughts & other water related problems.
In a gala event organized by Ms. Anjana Gupta, Sh. J.P. Shoor Ji, Director PS-I & Aided Schools, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi was the Chief Guest. Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra, President Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi UpSabha, Punjab & Principal BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road, Amritsar was also present. The eminent guests were accorded a warm welcome by presenting them bouquets.
The students presented a melodious group song the importance of water. Ridhima of Std. X expressed her views on this precious gift for mankind i.e. water.
Chief Guest Sh. J.P. Shoor Ji addressed the gathering and expressed his concerns related to water shortage on the whole and particularly on the quality of drinking water. He also explained the fact that if water level is not sustained by the current generation then the future generation would face scarcity and would lead to questioning of human existence. He motivated the students to conserve this essential commodity which is imperative for survival.
On this occasion, the students took pledge to save water, not to waste even a single drop of it and create this awareness among the public.
To spread this noble message among the masses, a grant rally was flagged off from the school campus to Verka Gurudwara in which 1200 students and teachers participated. The rally was led by Sh. J.P. Shoor ji which was welcomed by MLA Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu. She honoured Sh. J.P. Shoor ji and appreciated the sincere efforts of DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi for enlightening the common people about the significance of water. Councellor Ajit Lal was also present on this remarkable occasion. The children were given refreshment which was arranged by Gurudwara management. The children also performed Nukkad Nataks to spread the message of conservation. Various Media persons from and press were present on this occasion.
